I don’t get it, obviously these figures aren’t very accurate…if you could make 300K doing a job that doesn’t even necessarily require a college education, why would finance experts become analysts, controllers, CFOs, etc? So obviously it’s generally bogus, but my two questions are:

1. What would a realistic income figure be for a financial sales representative who puts in your typical 8 hours a day work effort?
2. How are companies allowed to openly and blatantly lie about the outlook of the positions they are hiring for?

I have three options on how to get more income coming in.

1. I could in pull in 0 a month through self-employment as a freelance writer. I could volunteer once a week to gain work experience thus increasing the chances I get hired by an epmployee.

2. I could get a full time job (which I have been so desperately trying to do) or

3. I could apply for welfare (which I really don’t want to do.) Welfare allots 0 a month and about 0 in food stamps. I don’t receive food stamps or welfare.

So, I am not sure what to do. I am going to take my child’s father to court very soon too so that he can help pay for her.

The thing with self employment as a freelance writer is that it is not very consistent and it is very hard work. I have to write about 5 quality articles a day, wait for them to be revised which takes about 2 weeks and then I wait for payment (1 day after they accept my articles, if they accept them.) They might not always take the articles I write. This is a hard job because I have to think of a topic, research it, write about it, edit it, and upload it to the site. That is 5 articles a day and I get paid – per article.

I don’t know why it is so difficult for me to find a job. I am in college. I am young (24) and I received my high school diploma. I figure it is because I have not been an actual employee for any company since 2005. I have been freelancing for about 5 years now.

Questions:

A) Will the PC, Camera, new desk expenses be eligible for income tax deduction? I use the PC, for 20% personal usage, the 80% is devoted to the graphic design to build my portfolios. The camera is 100% dedicated to the graphic design.

B) If I could deduct the expenses, what tax forms do I use, and do I need to separate between job search and business expenses?

C) What about the home office expense, I also bought a new desk in my study in 2007. Can I deduct a portion of my rent, utility, phone, supplies, that are dedicated to my study room?
