Generate Residual Income
I need suggestions or ideas for making an extra income on the side besides babysitting. I am 35 yrs old and have a full time job but I still would like to make some extra cash. I tried selling AVON products but it’s not really helping much (I hate selling stuff). I thought about babysitting in my building but I have no clue how much to ask and I feel a bit weird doing that at my age. I need other ideas. I don’t want to get a second job. It wouldn’t be worth it with all the income tax deductions. I just want something to do in the evenings on the side. Please give me some serious suggestions only.

If you aren’t willing to do sales, that cuts out the whole "product" side of making money, so you would have to look into "services". I think baby sitting is a great idea. Nothing wrong with doing that at your age. You can’t expect to make TOO much, I would suspect somewhere between $5-10 an hour, depending on the area, more for more kids, possibly.
You could also offer to do dog-walking, if there is anyone in your area that could use that service. You can do any number of things, if you are feeling creative, maybe try doing some cooking – offer to make dinner for people for a fair cost.
Even better, you could make desserts/chocolates/chocolate covered things/brownies/cupcakes/lemon squares/etc/etc. Wrap them up fancy and sell them for a small profit. You’re not going to make millions or anything, but you might be able to get away with a few bucks doing something like that. Try making a bunch of things, see what comes out well, and offer samples to people you know (and around your apartments) and tell them that you’re trying to earn a little extra money and if they want to place any orders to let you know later. Lower pressure sales tactics will be better to maintain friendly relationships and encourage possible repeat sales.
You’d be surprised how much better you can do than storebought foods (especially desserts) with just a little bit of time.
