How do you earn money from home? Any ideas for someone who is looking for a way to stay home with their baby? I’m currently writing a book (about pregnancy and parenting, actually) but I doubt it will go anywhere. What else is there– I’m all about making things (eventually want to learn how to make nice hairbows)– and I am willing to do boring work if its worth it. Ex’s mom used to stuff envelopes– do people still do that?

Well you can sell things on ebay. You can start a website and sell things. Find all vendors that have drop shipping options. you put their product on your website and pay them their wholesale price after someone purchase the product at full price. That way you don’t have to spend any money and you make money. You could get work from a company to colate, stuff envelopes, do data entry etc. Be careful what you decide though. Where I live there are rules. I wanted to sell pastries and muffins and bread int he morning but I found out that legally I can’t without being bonded but I can take orders and deliver the food without beign bonded. Weird huh? I decided it wasn’t worth lugging my 3 month old around.
Taking care of my son all day is ‘w.o.r.k’ enough for me.
I couldn’t imagine ‘working’ while he’s running around. That would be some over the top ‘multi tasking.!’ =]
When I do go back to work, it’s going to be OUT of the home.
I enjoy being OUT in the public with people.
They do have programs (if you have the patience!) to be a Customer Service Representative. People call in and ask questions, or pay bills for Companies like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.
They call and it rings your home phone (separate line set up) and you help the customer.
I’m not sure about those stuffing envelope jobs. There were always posters about them when I was in school (my hubby is still in school right now and still sees them) .. but I think they pay you in electronics. lol.
You stuff a certain amount of envelopes and get a free DVD player, I don’t think they pay in cash.
Good luck with the book…have confidence in yourself! I live in a very small community and I obtained a food handler’s card. I sell baked goods off and on. Banana Bread, pumpkin bread, cookies, pies. It’s not a great fortune, but it helps with this and that. I tried the survey thing, but that was so time consuming, and I made very little money. Wishing you luck with all your endeavors!
Exercise your interests. I do photography on the side. It’s a nice chunk of money, and it’s not hard (to me). I love what I do and I love making people happy.
I used to. I started an ebay business shortly after my daughter was born. Started off slowly, learned a bit and found a niche and then was earning about $500-600 per week. I pretty much quit this year as I am now doing my university degree from home instead but I kept that ebay running for 2 years and it was very helpful financially. Good luck with your book : )
You can apply for freelance writing, bookkeeping, software, transcription, online tuition or customer service work at home jobs. These companies do not require any fee and pay well . The only work from home job that is a member of the BBB is SFI. I’ve tried it. I’m getting paid monthly and the money is good.
