I would continue doing what you’re doing, keeping them clean and moisturized with an antibiotic ointment (neosporin or generic equivalent).
Keep an eye on him to make sure he isn’t rubbing them raw on carpeting or furniture or trying to scratch them (like our healing wounds, they itch when healing). If that is the case you’ll want to keep an e-collar on him when you can’t watch so he can’t continue the cycle of breaking open the wounds.

Actually, I have a dog now that has very similar looking ears and she was diagnosed with a fungal infection. Have you tried using a topical anti-fungal medication to see if that helps? You can get miconazole or Lamasil at a drugstore and see if it improves. It at least won’t hurt it.
